Nature has blessed us with many beautiful things and one of them is flowers. Flowers have been used not only to enhance the beauty of a woman but also to cure ailments. Roses, tulips, marigold etc have been used to treat skin problems since ancient times.

Flower Therapy is literally becoming a craze among the young turfs now-a-days to heal themselves. It helps in curing diseases like leucoderma, depression, heart ailments, emotional outburst, stamina, anxiety, stress, family problems, relationship problems etc. Different flowers have different property and are used for different salutary purposes which help in treating the patients.

According to Flower Therapist, MA Chishti, flowers that have good properties and help in treating ailments are very popular. He explains, "Flower therapy is the cheapest and the simplest mode to treat any health problem. For example, marigold flower is an excellent boon for the patients suffering from piles. If the extract of marigold is mixed with black pepper and taken for one week regularly it helps cure piles."

Next is the rose, which is available in colours like red, yellow, blue, white and black. It helps in curing scars, tanning, heart diseases and mental stress. Chameli helps in reducing eyesight problems and baldness. Sunflower comes as a healer for all skin diseases and imparts glow.

"Keeping flowers at home or visiting a florist's shop marks a deep impact on the state of mind. Flowers not only give new life but also help to pep up moods and emotions at all times," says Chishti.

Doctors are also realising that flower therapy is as good as physical therapy for people. The therapy is popular among the people not because flower gives essence, smell or energy but it also helps in fulfilling the vitamins in the body.

Dr Anil Ganjoo, Dermatologist of Skin and Cosmetology Centre informed, "Those who spend ten hours a day in the sun are prone to get skin cancer as exposing the body for long hours in the sun is not good. However, those who are not exposed to sunlight at all, lack vitamin D. For elderly or even young, vitamin D is most essential in the body so that the calcium can be absorbed into the bones. Flower therapy here plays a vital role in gaining vitamin D."

The therapy is very important for almost all types of patients because just walking around flowers boosts the memory, enhance sense of smell, thoughts.

According to experts, people with severe impaired memory, those who do not remember smple daily routine activities, are now coming-up with better attitude and memory with the help of flower therapy. Experts suggest that that whether you are 95, 40 or 19 years of age, flower therapy can rejuvenate and revitalise you anytime at all!
