Before you start up doing facials, the first and the foremost thing to do, is to identify your skin type. The five major types of the skin are oily, dry, normal, combination and sensitive. Only once you analyse your skin type, you may follow the facial treatment after consulting a qualified beautician.
A facial with pearl and gold is to improve blood circulation, to detoxify tissue and to give relaxation. "Modern allopath treatments work on medical levels in salon treatment, but natural ayurvedic treatment works on a cosmetic level, on the upper layer of the skin," reveales Sakshi, senior therapist at Rudra Spa, one of the oldest spas at Kemps Corner in Mumbai.
Gold facial in Rudra Spa is a clinical treatment and uses special methods of massage. The treatment encourages lymphatic drainage and removal of wastes and toxins. "The main ingredients are gold cream and gold gel. These contain 24 carat gold, alovera, wheat germ oil and sandalwood. The gold facial helps to improve blood circulation, skin elasticity, rejuvenates the skin and helps in delaying the formation of lines and wrinkles," explains Sakshi.
In pearl facial, the precious pearl and whitening dehydrated moisturising cream is used along with sea oil and sea scrub. Research has revealed that pearls contain a combination of natural substances that help to improve rejuvenation of skin cells. "This treatment with pearl in our spa is ideal for pigmented skin, provides hydration to the skin and makes the skin firm, soft, smooth and young," elucidates Sakshi.
Spa is a concept developed by the ancient Romans and Greeks, Belgians and French where good health was improved through naturally occurring phenomena like hot springs, thermal baths and the like. Ayurveda is as old as India and its remedies to promote health and beauty are renowned. Modern products developed by international companies improve the quality and appearance of a person's skin and hair.
As long as health, beauty and a sense of wellness are important to a person's psychological make-up, there is a place for spa and salon treatments in society. "It is more than just the therapy, but the feeling of relaxation and wellness that promotes healthy living that Rudra aims to promote. The goal of the spa is to promote the health of our customers through the use of eco-friendly, natural products and therapies that improves the vitality of a person’s appearance and sense of wellness," Amit Dholakia, the owner of the spa.
Rudra does this through a combination of traditional ayurvedic therapies and massages, international therapies modified to our conditions and mindset and through the application of new technologies in product development. One needs to open up to the possibilities with Rudra Spa and ways to explore nurture and enjoy your creative side and look more graceful, will be discovered.
