Now Sonam has 'Aisha' coming next month and young ladies are waiting for the movie to release so that they can copy Sonam's look!
The movie is an adaptation of Jane Austen's classic, 'Emma', and more than the plot it’s the clothes and accessories from the movie that's become popular and making news.
Though there are many talented people who need to be mentioned here, designer Ayesha Depala was the one who played a crucial role in designing Sonam Kapoor's wardrobe. Depala is based out of Dubai but her creations are famous all over. In 2002 she launched her own signature line 'Ayesha Depala' which is known for both ready-to-wear and couture.
The lady has an interior designer's degree from Delhi but soon after her marriage she shifted to Dubai and took up fashion designing.
Depala is known for her work and her creations ooze style and elegance. Depala is not new to Bollywood and has also worked with actress Lata Dutta and Shilpa Shetty, but 'Aisha' is her first film in India and it seems her hard work and patience has paid-off.
It all started at Dubai International Film Festival a few years ago, where Sonam met Depala and both became good friends instantly. Sonam is known for her fashion sense and Depala is famous for her creativity, and the common factor helped the two fashion conscious ladies bond well.
Soon after 'Aisha' was conceived, the Dubai designer received a call from Sonam's sister Rhea Kapoor and after a discussion, the designer was on-board!
She says, "I was given a brief on the look and they asked me that the clothes should represent the styling sense of a modern woman. It had to be high on fashion."
Depala, with some guidance from Sonam's stylist Pernia Qureshi, designed a few ensembles for the actress and sent them along with a few ready-to-wear dresses from her collection, that Sonam loved. The designer was immediately asked to create some chic and elegant dresses for 'Aisha'.
Depala took up the assignment because of actress Sonam Kapoor as she is one of her biggest fans. She says, "Sonam has an amazing style sense and she is just so perfect! She is graceful, feminine and a perfect match to my brand of clothes."
Depala is now gearing up for the upcoming HDIL-India Couture Week where she is planning to showcase her creations.
