It was really a dream wedding for both Shaleen Bhanot and Daljeet Kaur who got married on 9 December. They had a very traditionalal Maharaja-Maharani wedding in Jabalpur and were treated likroyals. Saysaljeet, "I always dream of marrying a boy like Shaleen and I am lucky God gave me what I exactly wanted. I love the uniqueness Shaleen has and he is some one who cannot be replaced in my life. He has the most beautiful heart in this world".
She adds, “We have a puja, Akhand Ramayan, at Shaleen’s house followed by sangeet on December5. Mehndi was on the Dec 7 and the engagement the following day. Shaleen's parents live in Jabalpur so the wedding happened there.”
They both had a royal wedding so there was a pressure too to look like Maharaja and Maharani. She says. " I wanted to look like a “typical Indian bride so I did not experiment with my clothes much. I wore an authentic red lehenga designed by my designer, Bhawna. The jewellery, shoes and everything were designed by her. For my engagement, I wore an emerald green Anarkali outfit with all the accessories attached to it. I chose to wear heavy jeweleries instead of very heavy dress and I did look like a Maharani".
Shaleen too wore a nice heavy read and beige Sherwani for the wedding and a three-piece suit for the engagement. Unfortunately, the two won’t have any time to go on their honeymoon. Said Daljeet, “Shaleen is shooting for Rajshri’s show Hanso Ka Joda. He took15 days leave for the wedding so as of now, there won’t be any free time to go on a honeymoon.”
Daljeet who has now shifted to Lokhandwala (where Shaleen lives) is eager to perfect her cooking skills. She says, "It's not that I can't cook but I want to learn it to perfection. Shaleen is a complete foodie and I want to make a variety of dishes for him. I have already made a yummy halwa for him and he has loved it. I want to start my new life as a complete Indian woman whose first priority is to look after her husband and cook delicacies for him. I want
to prove myself as a good wife, a good sister-in-law and a good daughter-in-law".
