Fashion shows displaying more and more natural fabrics

   By: , Feme Fashions Bureau | 13 Apr 2009

Though designers try to show their work on a variety of fabrics, usage of natural fabrics is on rise in the recent times.

Ace designers or amateur debutantes at fashion shows are moving away from synthetic fabrics and working wonders on varieties of natural fabrics with the main motto of providing a feather touch comfort to the wearer.

Creating modern bridal wear became a tough task nowadays for designers and stylists as the bride should pose with a traditional attire though modernity radiates through her looks and heart. It is a task that involves a fusion work of celebrity fashion, traditional fashion, regional fashion and the latest trends in the locality in question.

When Bibi Russel, famous Bangladeshi model turned designer, presented almost all natural hand-woven fabrics created by rural artisans, she could able to win the hearts of fashion lovers as well as harshest critics without draping her saris to hollywood divas or bollywood chics. She was so confident on her all natural work presented on non-celebrity chics. Came from the top model profession, that too in the west, she believes natural fabrics have the ability of attracting style lovers.

The attraction and comfort of natural fabrics is so great that even people in the west vie for the feel of touch of an Indian pure silk fabric. In Indian campus talks young chics proudly talk of cottons, silks, denims or natural fabrics from hemp and other new fabrics. Wearing a synthetic fabric, what ever great the design of the costume may be, is not perceived as a modern style symbol.

When designers Mona and Pali created styles out of Indian culture and natural fabrics they became show stoppers when Bipasha Basu displayed them on her body.
