PPEL Announces Mint Fresh ‘Kolkata Fashion And Lifestyle Week’ From Feb 24

The theme of the first ever 'Kolkata Fashion and Lifestyle Week' is 'Eco Fashion', Slated from 24th - 28th February 2010. The logo of the event was unveiled by stunning Bollywood star John Abraham.

Purple People Entertainment is moving up one step high towards ramp by announcing the first season of 'Kolkata Fashion and Lifestyle Week'.
KFLW which aims to celebrate fashion with a cause will see a host of well-known and talented fashion designers who will showcase their works in the course of the event.
Yudhajit Dutta, man behind the show says, “The theme 'Eco Fashion' refers to stylized clothing that uses environmentally sensitive fabrics and responsible production techniques. This very theme is in accordance with the fact that 2010 has been declared as the 'Year of Biodiversity' by the UN.”
The star of the afternoon John Abraham attracted everyone with his stylish yet bold physique. He looked simple in ‘Yellow Tee’ and ‘Blue Tracks’. It made him surprised with a beeline of photographers; the moment he entered, they went on to click poses as many as they could.
John says, “My intention to drop in city today to unveil KFLW logo is to promote upcoming designers. I am not walking on ramp for this season show but, to talk of fashion and style Kolkata has lot of talent. I might think of walking on ramp in mere future for Kolkata based designer Sabyasachi. I find him very brilliant and mercurial.”
He adds up with a smile, “Fashion for me is myself. One should be comfortable with what he or she feels is good and fashionable. The inaugural season of KFLW is coming up with ‘Prêt Line’. Hence, collection will be very creative and stylish.”
John also shared his modeling moments with everyone. He said proudly, “My best moment as a model was walking on ramp for Mona Ji in 1999. I walked wearing beautiful lehenga with nothing on top, designed by the very famous designer duo. The very show made me more famous amongst all the other designers.”
KFLW will witness splendid and incredible collections by renowned fashion designers to name some, JJ Valaya, Rocky S, Sanchita Julka, Neeta Lulla, Satya Paul, Anita Dongre, Dev r Nil, Abhishek Dutta, MonaPali, Rina Dhaka and many more.
A bevy of cricketers and bollywood celebrities will also walk the ramp at the fashion week to make it a star studded affair. Yudhajit adds up later, “The people of Kolkata are prepared to embrace new changes, fashion being one of the happening sectors. We do have designers in Bengal who are very talented and this is the platform for them. I assure this will be a excellent and happening event.
He confirms, “The Kolkata fashion and lifestyle week will concentrate on showcasing the beauty and originality of natural fabrics, fibers, dyes and is based on a very unique concept. Like designers even model hunt will give platform to the upcoming talented models.”
 
Kolkata Designer Mona Lamba says, “Let there be as many as fashion weeks one can cater in a city. At the end better one will sustain. We have lots and lots of talent hence, a fashion week cannot make the talent low by any ways. We will be coming up with our hand paintings on attires.”
Designer Sanchita Julka says, “I am very happy for the first season of KFLW. There will be lot many new things one will come across. I shall come up with ‘Fiction’ collection. The theme and other details are still pending for a short while.”
Kolkata based designer Abhishek Dutta says, “It was KFW started by Yudhajit three years back. This year we are going to witness the first season of KFLW. It will be a good event with more creativity. I shall come up with something unique this time.”
Designer Soumitra Mondol says, “I am very excited for the event. It’s good to have something different in Kolkata.”
Designer duo Dev r Nil says, “Kolkata has good potential. The very city is trend setter as well as trend follower. KFLW will be one of the most happening event ever in Kolkata. We shall come with something related to Eco Fashion.”
KFLW will come up with ‘L’Oreal’ make-up artists as their beauty and glamour partner.. The event also promotes ‘Save Our Tigers’. |
