By: Anju Gupta, Feme Fashions Bureau, Mumbai | 9 Mar 2010

Day 4 at the Lakme Fashion Week was quite interesting and more than the renowned names the small time designers made a mark on the ramp.

Staring with Masaba Gupta who is just 21, this girl will go places for sure. She has a lot of talent at at such a small age, she looks like that she is coming from a very long way. She showcased her collection Chalni with her gang of friends and the music that was used was much more than a fun to watch.

Her collection was more bindaas and the models were seen draped in dresses, dhoti pants, asymmetrical shirts, linen pants, cool cottons, mulls and ikkat pants. The dressed were made for a relaxed and ethnic resort wear and audiences seemed to like her collection a lot as they cheered up the models as they came in one by one.

Proud Mommy and actress Neena Gupta was seen sitting a front row wearing a beautiful blue sari and her daughter has used cyan blue a lot in her collection. The sari that Neena wore was designed by Masaba and Neena felt so proud to see her daughter growing.

Then it was Shashikant Naidu who showcased his collection which was dedicated to women’s day. He gifted women with a garb that could be forgiving on any body type. He stuck to natural khadis, liene, cottons, muslin, tussar and the colours which he used were elegant red, turmeric, beige, mustard and yellow.

The dresses had a lot of Kalamkari wok on them and he teamed beautiful designed saris with short textured cholis. His collection was comfortable relaxing and since the guy is quite simple, he kept his collection as simple as he could.

Then there was Paromita Banerjee who showcased her desi collection. She displayed that Indian clothes are the best and a lot more comfortable and chic.. Her collection was very simple with a lot of nature inspired work and the fabrics she chose was silk, line, and soft cottons. The colours were also very sober as she used white and beiges a lot.
