We had to wait for long to see Suneet’s collection but we felt that it was worth waiting so much. Model Lisa Haydon opened the show wearing a bright coloured dress dancing on the tunes of I feel love, Donna Summer’s album.
Suneet’s collection was rainbow coloured with a lot of bling but then we got a refreshing collection that the boring pale coloured ones. Models set the ramp on fire as they were at their best dancing, singing and entertaining the audience.
We saw a lot of kaftan’s, kurtis, tunics in bright colours of pink, blue, violet, yellow, gold. A lot of sequin work on the clothes seemed like a overdose of bling but we aren’t complaining as the models looked so beautiful and so does the collection.
Animal prints ruled the collection in earthy tones and turbaned models help the audiences relaxed and distress with their jigs.His collection had a lot of catsuits, tights, evening gowns, ghagras and jackets. The show was ended with models Lisa Haydon, Indrani Das Gupta and Amrit Maghera dressed in blinging blue, pink, gold dancing to the tunes of Bee Gee’s Night Fever and later they were joined by designer Suneet Verma who looked so excited as the audiences cheered and roared for him.
Then there was Lina Tipnis who used a palette oh white, beige and brown in trapeze dresses, fork trousers and cowl dresses offset with semi-precious stones.Pottery inspired prints ruled the skirts and low-crotch aladin pants.
Use of ancient map prints on evening gowns looked so different and it was a welcome change. The silhouettes were tent-like and summery which was like some experimentation with cuts in order. Then came Anita Dongre whose collection “Jaipur’ is pretty and wearable.
Translucent organza, jersey, raw silk, net were seen in jackets, gowns, saris, shorts and jumpsuits. There was this ice blue sari and a candy floss pink which was more than treat to the eyes of the viewers.
Her collection is simple yet very elegant and versatile. A white jacket with subtle embroidery teamed with white bikini and shorts was the eye cather of the show and the models looked so pretty with white daisy flowers in their hair.These models looked a little tired and lacked energy but the pretty collection made up for everything.
