With the festive season just round the corner, designer Arti Bagdy brings for the fashion savvy, an exquisite pre-Diwali show to light up the coming season, keeping in line with what's most important for festivals - dressing up and shopping.
So what is different about the Pre-Diwali Collezione? "With this event, we bring new emerging designers with their products that are absolutely quirky and unique, style steals of the season and much more...that’s what makes it the most awaited fashion exhibition of Chennai," informs Arti.
With a carousel of vibrant colours, embellished ensembles, swirls of rustling silk in jewel tones, sheer organzas and georgettes, crisp cottons, dazzling brocades and tissue, a hint of diamantes, the glint of sequins, charming hand-embroidery, elegant home accessories, footwear and an array of exquisite jewellery, will all be seen at the Collezione.
Fifty designers have been handpicked from across the country and this exhibition will showcase their finest creations. Speaking about the designer collections to be showcased at the event, Arti says that 35C, Surrender, Divija and Prisha are back with their prêt lines, bewitching ethnic and festive collection to add to the Diwali sparkle. Kalakriti will display its range of earthy block printed cottons while Pariddhi offers an eclectic mix of digital prints and embellishment. Tad's dazzling jewellery, Rashmi's footwear and Nyassa will help the fashion lovers indulge in handmade aromatic beauty and bath products.
Also, a wide range of beautifully packed gift assortments of exotic soaps along with lavish body lotions and scented diyas and much more will be available as Diwali gifts. A range of sarees and tunics with intricate embellishments will be showcased by Mamta, Vima, Sana's and Sole Affair.
Arti Bagdy also shares that newcomers will also rock at the show. For instance Mansha Modi, Myoho, jewellery by Joolz from Kolkata, designer dresses for dandiya and cocktail blouses by Shibori, lycra tunics with kantha by Kapaas and much more will entice trend-lovers.
Apart from that, exquisite artefacts, designer candles, reclining Buddha statues, Tibetan artefacts and other innovative fashion accessories by Sapan More and a range of exotic organic handmade, fragrant candles, incense gift packs and clay lights on display by young designers from Auroville will also be displayed.
For the Emerging Designers category, the Collezione will introduce two talented budding designers - Ritika Arya Jain and Neha Jain, with their fresh and vibrant collection of indo-westerns and beautiful stone studded, sequined embroidered garments.
All this and much more awaits at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai, on September 6, 2010, from 10 am to 10pm.
