Jewellery designer and former Bollywood star Neelam Kothari brings a true classic collection for the City of Joy, in her second showing. Kolkata witnessed her first collection five years ago at 85 Lansdowne.
This season her exclusive handcrafted diamond jewellery with rubies and emerald are inspired mainly by nature. It gives a true attractive and bold essence to the design. Moreover, precious and semi-precious colour stone brings a happy tone to the designs.
Talking about her collection in Kolkata, Neelam shares, "Kolkata women love jewellery. My collection has been designed specially for the fashion fraternity of the City of Joy. My collection includes almost everything in jewellery. This season my fresh line has been inspired by nature. I have used lot of motifs and also leaves, flowers, flower petals etc."
She adds saying, "I have seen that Kolkata jewellery lovers are fond of conservative pieces with comparatively bolder and bigger size of stones and diamonds. They somewhat lag behind the stylish and trendy jewellery designs. Overall, it's a good market with good number of famed jewellers but then, the variety of stylish and modish yet trendy jewellery designs are rarely found here."
"My designs are very subtle and simple. I give more attention on stones than the metal. My designs move well with almost all the age groups. I deal with neck pieces, earrings, bridal and party wear jewellery, cocktail rings, Columbian Emerald and Burma Ruby rings. Also I have brought here a range of stylish Jadau jewellery," adds the designer who will be showcasing her designs in Zevar till August 15, 2010.
Pushpesh Baid of Zevar says, "Its honour for us to have Neelam Kothari at Zevar Lounge. We have more such innovative concepts in pipeline for Kolkata with many designs and lifestyle brands to be showcased for the high-end fashion gang. There are more jewellery brands in-line for the city. Also, watch out for Paulomi Sanghavi at Zevar very soon."
Indra Jadwani, Head - Business Development, Zevar, says, "Its good to get in renowned and famed personalities for the fashionistas of Kolkata. Moreover, there are more such names in line who will be here to showcase their stuff, but then its too early for me to disclose."
