Amrapali, famous for its handcrafted jewellery made in silver and gold, is a well-known brand all over the globe. After its incessant participation in international shows and biggie fashion event i.e. Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in Delhi, and opening its door in Kolkata nestled inside the multi-designer store 'Trezo' at Forum Courtyard; Amrapali was recently spotted in Nouveaau at ITC, in the city; with their first ever show in the city of joy.
The one day-long show got to see revamped and fusion kind of designs which not only had contemporary outlook but also a unique modern essence. There were wide variety in ornaments like neckpieces, earrings, pendants, bracelets, rings and lots more to name.
Amrapali's new look for 2011 deals with something more stylish and appealing to everyone's eyes. The designs have been reworked keeping in mind the traditional spirit energetic and not boring. There more of a twist, turn and bling factor in tribal designs to make it look something very exceptional. Also on the show were artistry designs with elephant motifs to add a contemporary yet superior feel to the ornaments.
Talking about the latest collection and the first showing in Kolkata, Anil Ajmera, Director, Amrapali Jewels, explains, "Our latest collection deals with fusion wear stuff. We have re-worked with our new range of jadau jewellery, combining with full-cut diamonds and polki collectively where the traditional essence has been kept to glow gracefully. We have also re-invented some old designs in our ornaments, which are hard to find elsewhere. This gives an innovative uplift to the creation which makes the design to catch the attention of jewellery lovers."
Speaking about some of the revamped creation, he adds, "To name a few, we have worked on an outlook of old Victorian kind jewellery where the neckpiece has been beaded in a very stylish and tasteful manner. There are round dangling earrings with a combination of jadau and contemporary design, though the technique has been old but the concept of studding diamonds on either side of the dangler is new. There are lot of fine sets and neckpieces with rose cut diamonds studded in a very unique and careful style."
"Tribal is our forte and we stylize it in a way that it gives a new meaning to the creation. The tribal pieces have been added with pearl bunch and polkis to make it look something very special. Also we have worked on more of elephant motifs this season. The neckpieces have been worked-on with diamond and emerald studded elephant motifs on the neck line. The bracelets have been worked-on with rose-cut diamond studded elephant trumpet motif," adds Anil who was spotted at Amrapali's first ever show in Kolkata.
Tarang Arora, CEO, Amrapali Jewels, says, "Kolkata is a good city with the old kind of charm still persisting and Kolkattans have a good taste in jewellery. Its like since long we have been waiting for such show in the city. It was a good show and I believe jewellery lover's in Kolkata have lot of awareness about the trend, fashion and different type of jewellery. Our designs are always unique and they keep up the Amrapali's signature style. There's just the change in perseverance which is anytime essential to re-work or revamp a particular look. Importantly, I feel jewellery should be judged with its unique artistry instead the price."
