Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan plays don Sultan Mirza in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. The movie released yesterday and everyone is talking about it.
Critics have loved the film and it’s Ajay Devgan who is emerging as the star of the movie. The entire movie has Ajay in plain white shirts, pants and shoes as the role demands it.
Ajay loves everything that is in white and hence he truly loved his costumes that were given to him. But after a point he was so bored with the colour that even the sight of his costumes was enough to irritate him. Designers Rushi Sharma and Manoshi Nath got made some 40 pairs for the actor, but at the end only 8-9 sets were used.
Poor Ajay used to sulk when other actors got to wear colourful clothes, but the actor had no choice  .
He must be very happy now as his hard work has paid off. His character Sultan Mirza is the best part of the movie and more than Ajay’s acting his walking, talking and dressing style is making news  .
So white is the new hot colour of the season 
Sonakshi Sinha is all set to make her debut with Dabanng opposite Salman Khan. The promos are currently on-air and I must say that the girl is very promising .
I still remember meeting her for the first time at a bollywood party. She was with her parents and was studying fashion designing at a popular college. She was plump and looked very pretty in that nose ring that she has been wearing since eight long years.
I asked her about her future plans and pat came the reply that she aspired to become a designer and not an actor. She had an amazing style sense and I knew that she will make a creative designer. But I don’t know what made me advise her to consider acting of course after losing those extra kilos. But she seemed least interested and answered that she may consider taking up production, but acting was a big no-no for her .
A few months later I heard that Salman Khan has finally convinced her to act and both are doing a movie together. I was very happy and knew that bollywood will soon get an amazing actor .
Sonakshi plays a simple girl in Dabanng and will be seen wearing sarees, lehenga-cholis in vibrant colours. She has herself designed her look for the movie and I must admit that she is looking simply amazing. We not only see a wonderful actor, but also a talented designer in Sonaksi Sinha.

I am very excited and waiting for Peepli Live to hit the screens. The promos of the movie are simply hilarious and I am sure the dialogues will form the crazy trend of the season .
Set in rural villages of Madhya Pradesh, the movie is about a farmer who plans to commit suicide and attracts media attention. Designer Maxima Basu has designed the costumes of the movie.
Basu has done a fabulous job here. It is difficult to make people look poor and shabby through designer clothes. Have you seen amma? I think she will be the best one from the lot. Even she wears sarees that is specially designed by Maxima .
The designer must have spent a lot of time on designing these clothes and then giving them the dirty and shabby look. But I have loved the rugged look kurtas that Nattha and his brother have been wearing. The media guys and politicians are also looking decently dressed.
It seems actress Celina Jaitely is been going through a bad phase in her life. The actress is been making special appearances quiet often these days.
She is been wearing some beautiful dresses and sarees when ever she is stepping out of the houses these days. The actress who was known to make a fashion disaster seems to have improved a lot as far as style is concerned .
But as I said you win some, you lose some. The babe has lost her charming expressions. God alone knows what she has done to her pretty face which now carries a dead expression. She looks haunting these days  .

Mumbai based jewelery designer Laksh Pahuja is back with his necklace that includes a live fighter fish. He had showcased it at a jewelery show in 2007, but was hugely criticized for it.
Now he is back with the pendant and wants to showcase it at an upcoming event. Pahuja’s huge necklace pendant is made from wood but it has a live fighter fish in the middle of it.
We have heard of designers using animal parts for ornaments, but using a fish is new. I think it will stink and hardly anyone would like to buy it. But the designer stresses that it’s his creativity, but using a live fish is not creativity but cruelty  .
According to the designer fighter fish can survive without oxygen and hence he thinks his necklace is one of a kind. But then you can’t store the piece forever or get a new fighter fish every time you are wearing the neck piece.
To everyone’s surprise the piece is coming at a whopping price of 25 Lkahs. Anyone interested?

She recently shot for her wedding sequence in the show and was seen wearing a beautiful read and gold heavy designer lehenga. She looked amazing, but no one knows that the producers spent a good 80 thousand rupees on her outfit.
Ragini asked the producers of the show to allow her to shop for her wedding dress. The producers gave her a budget of 60 thousand rupees but while shopping at a popular store in Juhu, she ended up buying 80 thousand lehenga.
Later she called up her producers who gave in her demand and hence the lady was seen wearing the expensive outfit in the show.
Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto is known for her dressing style more than the films she takes up. The girl who always loves to dress herself in international brand is suddenly promoting Indian designer and good friend Nikasha Tawadey these days.
Pinto was recently in Mumbai and dropped in to check Nikasha’s recent collection. She loved the line so much that she ended up buying a few of them. The girl is doing ‘My Safe Place’ campaign by British actor Emma Thompson against violence towards women.
Pinto wore an ethnic kurta designed by Nikasha to the shoot of the event and everyone seemed to love the design.
Now Nikasha has become one of the hot favorites of Pinto and the girl wants to wear as many designs of Nikasha as possible.
When it comes to lingerie and swimwear shopping, Indian women are the ones who lack the skills. Designer duo Narresh and Shrivan, who are known for their beachwear collection say that Indian women are at loss when it comes to the two piece shopping.
The guys are not blaming the women here but they say that there is no size chart available here which can show their perfect body type. Most Indian designers make clothes in UK or US measurements but no designer has till now bothered to make a perfect size chart for Indian women.
Hence Indian women rarely get two pieces that suit their body type and hence women here lack confidence to don the bold piece.
The much awaited Wills India Lifestyle Week is all set to begin. Indian designers have pledged to bring back the fashion legend Alexander McQueen alive on the ramp with their collections.
The designers participating in the show will pay tribute to the late designers. Alexander McQueen is known for his dramatic designs and over-the-top accessories. Designer Nida Mahmood has based her collection on scrap, which was the late designer’s inspiration last year.
Then designer Kavita Bhartia will be opening her collection with an over the top garment. It has a lot of pleating, textures and antique work. One look at the dress and Alexander McQueen loyal fans would be able to relate this dress to him.
Designer Charu Parashar is inspired from the gladiator look which is again made famous by the legend.
Designer Purvi Doshi decided to call her collection as ‘ Kahchindo’which means chameleon in gujarati. Chameleon is known for changing it’s shapes and colours whenever wanted and so her collection too had garments changing colours at the will of the wearer.
The collection is very versatile and one can wear them inside out,upside down and side on side.She used a lot of aari work, mirror workand had traditional Gujarati motifs to create user-friendly dresses, long skirts and short skirts.
Purvi says, “I named my collection as 'Kahchindo' which means chameleon in Gujarati. It changes its colours and shapes according to its width and my collection coveys this smartly.My collection is versatile and it can be worn upside down, inside out, side-by-side and give various colour combinations”.
Her collection is a very new concept and everyone has loved it totally.
Designer Pria Kataria Puri showcased her collection inspired from the royal Maharani Gayatri Devi from the colorful state of Rajasthan.
Her designs were very colourful with a lot of work, but it failed to impress the audiences as it was way too flashy.Actress Mughda Ghodse draped in a bridal wear in a shade of pink too could not manage to make a mark as the show stopper of the show.
Pria’s collection was no where close to the style and sophistication of Gayatri Devi’s style and dressing sense. Post show press conference had the designer talking to the media in which she told that Mugdha resembles a lot to Gayatri Devi .
The entire media guys present at the venue were shocked and these words raised quiet a few eyebrows. A few of them exchanged smiles to each other and few burst into laughing.Well Pria we know that Mugdha walked the ramp for you and we don’t doubt her talent as an actress at all.She is one of those who has a good body and can carry any dress with ease but I think comparing her with some one as beautiful and royal as Maharani Gayatri Devi is little too much .
