This season's London Fashion Week sure set a new trend for fashionistas. The event took place a couple of months back in London, when millions all over the world watched the 'normal' looking models walk the ramp donning trendy outfits, looking not one bit less glamorous! Many media headlines termed this event - "This is what models look like when they eat!"
Is the fashion industry taking the less-trodden path? Will this set new trends on the ramp?
The models that walked the ramp for London Fashion Week looked no less stunning, in fact much better, than the regular skin-and-bones girls. Though clearly larger than an average catwalk model, the women were in no way overweight.
It was leading Canadian designer Mark Fast's unique idea to promote 'healthy' models on the ramp. With leading designers taking initiative, are we in for a new (healthy) trend?
It's high time Indian designers set similar trend too; especially since the Indian body type and Indian fashion isn't all that suitable for size zero measurements. Healthier models wearing trendy outfits, will infact make the styles more 'wearable'.
