It was 'Hi', 'Hello' and 'You are looking so good' – kind of compliments from the known as well as unknown faces.

As we had drowned in the compliments and attention each one of us was receiving, there walked a set of 'white beauties' - each one no less than a Hollywood celebrity. Even we dropped our jaws and stood looking at them. The bunch of young ladies - Americans, British and Japanese - had come to India to attend their friend’s wedding (my cousin).

What was so special about them was that each one of them had dressed from top to toe in the true traditional Indian style- in silk sarees, matching glass bangles, chokers, ear hangings, different hair dos (buns and braids) and sporting big bindis. Less did these beauties knew that dressing up in the traditional Indian style would enhance their looks and beauty a million times making hundreds of heads turn.

We were also surprised to see the married ones wearing mangalasutra (black beads) and toe rings. All these girls had planned well in advance to look very Indian at the wedding. "Now I know why Indian women look so graceful and beautiful in their traditional attire. I just can't believe that I look so different and graceful. I am just loving myself," Janet, an American said.

Beauty, no doubt, lies in the eye of the beholder. But, our rich tradition and culture makes any woman look beautiful and all eyes envy the beauty.

(Well, it's pretty understandable since Vic herself was discussed for being an anorexic.)

The girl, however, does have a point when she says that models could be skinny, curvy, size zero or plus size...they shouldn’t be talked about only because they are of a certain size. But it isn't always like that now is it?

She also says that some girls are naturally very skinny and shouldn't be labelled anorexic for that. But what when being stick thin becomes a requirement to walk the ramp? That is when it becomes scary and is discussed.

If all body shapes and sizes should be accepted and not be a topic of discussion, why aren't curvy or plus size models accepted on the ramp? After all those girls need trendy styles and fashion too, right? Something to think about!

which means chameleon in gujarati. Chameleon is known for changing
it’s shapes and colours whenever wanted and so her collection too had
garments changing colours at the will of the wearer.

The collection is very versatile and one can wear them inside out,
upside down and side on side.She used a lot of aari work, mirror workand had traditional Gujarati motifs to create user-friendly dresses,
long skirts and short skirts.

Purvi says, “I named my collection as 'Kahchindo' which means
chameleon in Gujarati. It changes its colours and shapes according to
its width and my collection coveys this smartly.My collection is
versatile and it can be worn upside down, inside out, side-by-side and
give various colour combinations”.

Her collection is a very new concept and everyone has loved it totally.

Even movie stars seem to love the new trend. Saw Vidya Balan at the 55th Filmfare Awards night? The subtle makeup coupled with earthy toned saree and the rudraksha neckpiece went just perfect together.

Her designs were very colourful with a lot of work, but it failed to impress the audiences as it was way too flashy.Actress Mughda Ghodse draped in a bridal wear in a shade of pink too could not manage to make a mark as the show stopper of the show.

Pria’s collection was no where close to the style and sophistication of Gayatri Devi’s style and dressing sense. Post show press conference had the designer talking to the media in which she told that Mugdha resembles a lot to Gayatri Devi .

The entire media guys present at the venue were shocked and these words raised quiet a few eyebrows. A few of them exchanged smiles to each other and few burst into laughing.Well Pria we know that Mugdha walked the ramp for you and we don’t doubt her talent as an actress at all.She is one of those who has a good body and can carry any dress with ease but I think comparing her with some one as beautiful and royal as Maharani Gayatri Devi is little too much .
