This one is for the tangy candy, bubbly vibrant fashion diva who loves colour with some twists and turns in designing. After mesmerising Delhi's urban women with his foray into western wear, Gautam is once again introduced his latest spring summer 2012 collection under his label Autre.
Having named his collection 'Lime Chuski', the fluorescent appeal of the season can be clearly witnessed in the designs as they are fresh and flamboyant.
"The passion is enclosed in each and every garment as this collection symbolises the carefree urban women who just loves to be free. The colours are apt to set the mood of the season as they are bright, eclectic and full of joy," says the young and experimental designer.
Having used a crush cotton fabric dress with the appliqué of cotton corduroy and embellished with beads and sequins each creation is distinct and has an amalgamation of the best of India and the west. Ask him about the inspiration of the collection and pat comes the reply, "The theme Lime Chuski represents happiness, freedom, bonding and enjoying life at every moment. We have used mixture of bright colours, flowing and carefree silhouettes, soft textiles with digital printing and rich Indian embroidery to make it peppy and delightful."
Going in sync with the theme and the fashion trends India and abroad Gautam's cocktail of blue jumpsuit with orange jacket, block printed jacket in flesh ochre colour with resham work, multicoloured princess line dresses, cowl kaftan in shades of green, blue, jacket style kaftans embellished with crystals, one piece dress with frills of chenderi not only gives a flamboyant look to the style diva but Gautam has also shown the cocktail of Indian and Western culture.
The designer has used georgette, chiffon, chanderi, organza, cotton and linen combining it with flurry of colours like fuchsia, lime green, sunny yellow, orange and aqua in his collection. To make it more Indian Gautam has used Indian embroidery like Kantha work, Phulkari work, Kashmiri embroidery, Parsi gara embroidery, Ari and Zardosi along with beads, cut dana and sequins which can be witnessed in his designs.
Using all these in various permutation and combination, Gautam have incorporated them in western silhouettes and cuts to give them an international look.
