Bandage Dress : The Party Circuit’s New Uniform

  The dress fits like second skin and it’s definitely the most coveted dress in this world. The bandage dress for sure betrays every inch of loose flesh on a less-than-perfect body. Those who are very conscious about their wardrobe should be missing out incomplete if they won’t add this dress in one of their sections. Till now, this dress was only seen on ramps, but now each and every stylish lady of bollywood and television industry is owning at least a couple of them.

Red, blue and black is the hottest while pastels and white give a soft and subtle look. Malaikaa Arora who is known for her perfect curves has 8 of these dresses and is in love with all of them. She says, “I love them because they are iconic and very flattering”.

The dress accentuates a woman’s curves and makes you feel good about your body. Queenie Dhody who is known for her collection of dresses has been collecting these bandage dress since past 18 years when people hardly knew about it. She has a big section of her wardrobe filled with this dress and she is very happy that the dresses have now managed to become a hot property on party circuit.

But according to Dhody, those who are in shape should go for this dress and those with extra pounds will end up showing all your unwanted curves. One look at this dress will surely motivate you to loose all your extra kilos and wear one at least once.

The dresses fits best because it’s made up of many layers of elasticated fabric, mostly lycra and the dress is woven together in strips that take on the shape of the wearer’s body. The dress is not new and its said to have debuted in 1980’s and was a big vogue during that time. But now it has re debuted beyond its classic form with the addition of sequins, metallic embellishments and most recently knots and denim finishing.

If you are looking to buy this dress then you must go to FCUK where the dresses are available at Rs 4,999 but it has a very limited edition. So if you are planning to get one, just don’t think twice and head towards a store near you.

If you can spend a little more then designer Sabah Sharma’s bandage dress at her boutique in Juhu is the best place to buy one and the price range starts from Rs 8,000. If you are the one who can spend handsomely to buy this one, then Lina Tipnis’s boutique is the best for you where the dress is available at a starting price of Rs 17,995. Her bandage dress collection is available at Mogra, Bliss, Kimaya and Cypress.
