Tap online pics from the high-end social circuit or flip any lifestyle glossy, most glam-dolls are seen sporting the chic, short hair look these days.
Even B-town actresses aren't an exception to this trend. The conventional notion of an actress having the long-haired-Indian-look is passé! Silver screen stunners like Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza have changed it for good.
The case for socialites isn't any different either. Call it for convenience or simply to flaunt a new style, page 3 regulars can be seen showing off the chopped tresses with pleasure.
There are some who always loved it short, like singer, model, socialite Manasi Scott. Manasi has always been seen either with a mushroom-top, short blunt or layered-bob. Recently spotted with a razor-cut bob with front fringes, Manasi even manages to add a little spunk to it by streaks and dashes of colour once in a while.
Designer Neeta Lulla too, a few months back, went ahead and chopped her long tresses to get a young, blunt look. Neeta is already a big fan of the fringe and can be seen sporting it since years!
Another party-regular who has been carrying short hair really well is Mandira Bedi. With a perfect ultra-short haircut, the waves of rather cute curls take off years from her age! She does enjoy the little curls, but Mandira was also seen at many parties and events with a sleek, straight hair look, giving an elegant yet stylish tone to her vivacious personality.
While Lara recently went 'short', saying that this style suited the Mumbai weather the best, Bipasha had donned the look few years back, when other stars didn't even think of it! Bips, who's known for her bold style statements and often branded as the GenNext Zeenat Aman, carries almost any look perfectly well, and so she did her short uneven blunt; in fact it only added to her uber chic persona!
Urmila Matondkar too was seen with a similar short hairdo in her movie 'Bhoot'. She carried the look for quite some time and was even loved for it.
Page 3 regulars and B-town babes are doing their bit to support and promote the 'bold' yet chic chopped hair look; but some of the models are going a bit further, or so it seems.
While top model Jesse Randhawa went super-short, much like Mandira Bedi, Diandra Soares went a step ahead and shaved it off completely, going bald one fine day! She can be seen on the ramp, at parties and social events proudly flaunting her new look; and we must admit that she's doing a great job carrying it off!
The notion that short hair cannot go well with an ethnic 'Indian' look or outfits like kurtas and sarees, has been long washed out by many popular names of the glittering page 3 circuit.
Short is here to stay, and we say for good!
