Wedding is a very sacred event and a special day happening in one's life. Everyone wants this day to be extra-ordinary and does everything possible to make it royal and full of good memories.
A three day long wedding exhibition organized by Spenta Multimedia here in Mumbai has left a long lasting impact in the lives of Marwaris. The exhibition that focused only on the Marwar community made it all the more special.
This exhibition was held keeping one community in mind and hence everything that makes up a royal marwari wedding from clothes to jewelleries was on display. The event was first organised ten years ago by the then publisher of Marwar magazine. It was widely appreciated and since then the exhibition makes it a point to come back every year.
Ruchi Maheshwari who has never missed this exhibition says, "For the first few years the exhibitors here were housewives. They showcased some brilliant clothes with amazing embroidery and rich colours, jewelleries, home décor items, accessories and such things. But things have changed now as more and more brands have come in."
The event that started as a small exhibition targeting the small community has now grown as a big brand conscious event that targets the rich, big budget families.
This year the event saw thousands of visitors on the first day but second day was low because of the rains. The third day was the best as about 15,000 people turned up for the event. There were some rich, stylish, elegant and sophisticated fashion wear at the event that you will find hardly anywhere in India. The clothes, jewelleries that had come from the small stalls and lanes of Jaipur was the hottest attraction of the event. It had some most amazing handmade beauty products, wedding trousseaus, jewellery at the best prices.

Lakhan Loiwal, an exhibitor said, "This year the business was too good. In fact I won't earn this much the entire year that I have made in three day exhibition." When asked what was the best part of the exhibition, he says, "Jewellery of course! People come here for some beautiful handcrafted jewellery and traditional clothes. More than brands, it's usual traditional handmade things that are sold here. I am very happy with the results and now looking for other cities after Mumbai." It's Hyderabad followed by Bangalore, which will see the wedding event soon.
This year the event in Mumbai saw renowned brands like Gitanjali Group, Rosenthal, Orra diamond jewellery, Lladro, Stefan Hafner, D'damas, Rosato, Morelatto, Just Cavalli, Nina Ricci, Kashvi, Lucera, Diya, Nyassa, Nakshatra, D’damas, Calgaro, Sangini, Rivaaz, Desire, Ezee Diamonds, Gili, Asmi, Maya, Miss Sixty and many others. There were designer stuff from Varuna D Jani, Shaina NC, Amisha Khanna and Kavita Behl.
