Tribal Trends Rule The Season

By: Anju Gupta, Feme Fashions Bureau, Mumbai Dt: 05/03/2012
Summers means vacations, holidays and time to relax, enjoy and have all the fun of life. It is also one of the seasons that allow you to experiment and give yourself cool, funky and a causal look.

The new fun trend that is selling hot this season, is that of tribal prints. A style that looks glamorous but exudes comfort too. This one is a must try.

For the starters, tribal trend consists of strong, graphic prints that's effectively combined with warm, earthy tones or may be nudes. These prints are often oversized, bold and strong and hence they look good on simple garments like a simple shift dress or tunic or even a kurta.

The fabrics that are used with tribal prints are softy and light that makes it a perfect summer wear. Tribal prints when teamed with ethnic weaves make for a perfect summer combination. The trend that was a hit in the 1970s, has made a huge comeback this season with celebs, models, fashionistas and socialites going the tribal way.

Tribal trends rule the season
Designer Runna Rajan says, "In summers fashion is fun, light and comfortable. Since you can't have embellishments and encrusts on you, prints come in light. Tribal prints are funky, bold and make for an interesting look. This season they are in vogue and have been making really good business."

An over-sized printed top can be paired with strong coloured pants, skirts, shorts and even denims and vice-versa. Prints from head-to-toe is a strict no-no and will make you look no less than a fashion blunder.

When it comes to tunics, shift dress and skirts tribal prints make for a very interesting option here.In summers people want to dress in everything that make them feel at ease, is comfortable and more important cool. A printed garment can anytime be much more comfortable than an embroidered or embellished outfits in summer.

Style expert Rajnee Deshmukh says, "For me a printed top paired with comfortable well-fitting  cotton pants makes for a perfect causal option. Summers are full of fun and quirky styling sense and when it comes to tribal prints, nothing can beat its charm and glam that it exudes."

Mostly in cottons, linens and chiffons, tribal prints look good on jumpsuits, skirts, tops, tunics and kurtas. But the funda is to have only one printed garment on you and rest should be plain and neutral outfits that balances the look well. A stylish printed jumpsuit can be balanced
with a neutral plain jacket and vice-versa.ame goes with kurta-pants, tunic-denims, shorts-tee and so on. The colours that are ruling this season include yellow, whites, corals, blues,  pinks and mustards.
