Having black and shiny locks is any woman's dream. Unlike olden days, not many are lucky today to delay graying. Due to various factors - hereditary, pollution, lack of nutrition, stress, etc. girls can show signs of their mane graying as early as ten years of age.
Talk of multi-tasking women, they would go in for hair dyes, henna and colours in their early 20s itself. Though many wish to age gracefully, signs of early graying is not welcomed.
I know a family in which all the three sisters, now aged over 50, had completely gone gray in their 30s. Hardly could you find a couple of black strands by the time they were 40. Each one of them is in the highest post of their respective professions. Surprisingly none of the three thought of covering their gray strands. They never went in for artificial colors. Even their families supported their stand to ‘stay natural’.
Though they turned completely gray at an early age, the sisters say they have ‘grayed and aged gracefully’.
On the other side, their youngest sister-in-law, a banking official in her mid 30s, is very paranoid about having a single gray visible. "I started noticing a couple of gray hairs when I was just 28. Since then, at least 30 percent of my hairs have turned gray. Basically, I feel awkward to show my grays, hence I colour them regularly," she said.
Though one cannot stop your mane from graying, at least believe in grandma's secret. "Regular oiling of hair controls graying at an early age". This may not prove true in all cases as many factors contribute to your hair turning gray. Whether gray or not, maintain healthy and silky tresses. If you naturally have them, then flaunt it best and make heads turn.
Word of caution: Go in for colours from reputed companies or use natural colours if at all you need to beat those grays!
