There are some basic skincare rules that need not be followed strictly; in fact they are better when bent a little!
Though we all want easy ways to care for skin and beauty, the same old beauty care routine can be tad boring. Skincare-News.com’s latest article
• 'Bend these Beauty Rules' - talks about some basic beauty rules that can be broken and how to break them efficiently, yet getting the best out of them.
Surprisingly, most beauty rules are better when tweaked a little rather than being followed stringently! Here are some pointers from the article...
Rule 1: Change your foundation colour with every season.
Tweak it: Nowadays, when most women prefer to use self-tanners and wear sunscreen (meaning their skin tone doesn’t change much), it is much better not to change the foundation colour! You may opt for a matte finish in the summer but a hydrating foundation in the winter.
Rule 2: Avoid exfoliating dry skin.
Tweak it: Unless your skin is super-sensitive, all skin types should exfoliate both face and body. If dead skin cells aren’t regularly rubbed off, skin ends up looking dry, dull, rough and uneven. Dead skin also clogs pores causing acne. Using an exfoliant lets your beauty products penetrate the skin and reveal newer, healthier, more radiant skin. Keep a gentle, everyday-use scrub for face and a tougher-acting one for the body.
Rule 3: Wash the face twice a day every day.
Tweak it: For dry or sensitive skin, it is best to wash the face once a day to prevent further dryness. Washing the face at night, when it is dirtiest, can help stop washing off the natural oils; rinse with cool water in the morning. But for oily, acne-prone skin, washing the face thrice a day will help. Just do not scrub harshly.
