As expected, Day 4 turned out to be the most beautiful and most awaited day at the Lakme Fashion Week. I just could not have asked for more, because I am totally excited and at peace after watching yesterday’s show.
The designers who showcased their collections were Vikram Phadnis, Gauri and Nainika, Mandira Wirk, Swapnil Shinde and others. Out of all, I totally enjoyed Vikram Phadni’s collection, which was again a bridal collection. But he used colours like beige, white, off white and I simply adored that. It was something I wanted to see and have been waiting long for that.
Sushmita Sen walked the ramp for friend Vikram Phadnis and believe me she simply looked Sush-ilious and Sen-sational. She wore a beige bridal wear with a lot of sindoor in her mang and a big bright red bindi on her fore heard. The audience cheered her so much as she made a grand entry and for sure every man sitting in the audience wished to have a bride like her. Sushmita has lost oodles of weight and looked bootilicious.
Other celebs who walked the ramp were perfect figure Malaika Arora Khan, leggy Deepika Padukone, Urvashi Sharma and others.
Delhi based designers Gauri and Nainika showcased their collection for the first time in Mumbai. The audience eagerly waited for them and it seemed they were not at all disappointed. The models who walked the ramp for them wore a sexy yet classic western wear. Their show opened with a much fan fare and their models walked the ramp on a jazz music wearing silhouettes, corset chests and such. Their collection kept audience’s mood alive and the models seemed to be in high spirits totally enjoying the show as the audience welcomed them with loud noise of applause.
It seems both Gauri and Nainika’s collection were inspired from Valentino’s atelier. Their dresses were short length which was change for the audience as they had been watching mostly bridal wears since the past three days. Deepika Padukone wore a black and white jumpsuit and walked the ramp for the designers. We were a bit disappointed though Deepika looked stunning. We had expected her to see in bright and vibrant Red or in Royal Blue.
Even Mandira Wirk did not disappoint her fans. She used zippers not only to hold the dress together but also as embellishment. She used a touch of plastic everywhere including bags, clothes, shoes etc. even one shoulder minis, body hugging jersey halters, draped skirts were displayed by them.
Malaika Arora Khan walked the ramp for Mandira. She was wearing an orange tube dress, which did not go with her figure and charm. She could have made looked much better.
