The final day of the Lakme Fashion Week was a bit thanda, which was not expected. Audience were anticipating a blasting finale. Though we cannot say they got it fully, the designers managed to keep them hooked to the ramp.
The designers who showcased their collections at the final day were Raakesh Agarvwal, Narendra Kumar Ahmed, Wendell Rodricks, Rimzin Dadu, Kallol Datta and of course not to forget the grand finale master Tarun Tahiliani.
Bollywood actress Lara Dutta walked the ramp for friend Raakesh Agarvwal as she found his creations genuinely good. She wore a beige colored plain silk tissue saree along with a golden colored blouse with beads hanging all over her blouse. Lara has a really hot body and she could have made to look much better. She was a disappointment yesterday.
Coming to designer Rimzim Dadu, one thing is sure; with her collection cutwork will be a big trend this season. She presented girly silhouettes with a heart of steel. It almost felt that Rimzim was playing her heart on the ramp. Her collection was so fresh and lively with beautiful vibrant colors.
Her ultra feminine silhouettes reflected a more feminine side of the woman totally girlish and any woman would love to wear her collections, given a chance. The last piece, which she displayed was a hand burnt beaded cage dress over a draped jersey drape worn by model Candice Pinto was simply lovely. It surely made a style statement as the audience treated it was a big round of applause.
Coming to another ace designer Narendra Kumar, his collections made sure that high waisted jeans and trousers strike back after a decade. The collection is suitable exclusively to ultra slim girls. He has selected twenty college students to display his creations and strictly no known faces and bollywood celebs were roped in.
His collection was simple because of his theme of college students. The models walked to the tune of latest Black Eyed Peas song tonight’s gonna be good night and we expected his creation to gel perfectly with the song. But instead we got to see simple trousers and jeans teamed with tees along with summer dresses. He used colors like cobalt blue, yellow, brown, beige and such.
Goa based designer Wendell Rodricks was another hit at the show. He used a new fabric called Viscose which is highly sexy. But beware; wear it only if you have a sexy body to carry the sexy fabric. Colours like Khaki, Olive, pink ruled his creations and model Pia Trivedi wore a beautiful fuschcia pink Brazilian goddess gown which was simply a sexy hit with the audience.
Over all the audience looked satisfied too.
