Chennai International Fashion Week, CIFW, preparations are going on full swing. The designers have been confirmed, while the auditions for models will be held shortly. Here is a sneak peek on what’s been happening.
Fashion diva Priaa Kataaria Puri, will be opening India’s most global fashion week on 16th December at 1p.m. Mr. Sidney S. Sladen is the host designer for CIFW. He will be presenting his collection on 16th December 2009 from 9:30 pm onwards. The grand finale designer has also been decided. It’s none other than our renowned designer, Neeta Lulla. Watch her magic mesmerize all of us this December as she presents her collection.
The response for model auditions was so much that, even after the closing date, the crew has been getting numerous phone calls and messages from aspiring models. The registration date is extended to 30th of October. Anyone who missed out registering for the fashion week, can now do it by emailing your resume and pictures to casting@cifw.in.
Here are few details on what should be done.
The model auditions will be held on November, 8, at Le Meridien , Bangalore. The auditions will be conducted for both male and female models. The registration for male models is at 9 am and female models will be at 12 p.m. Models need to carry 2 sets of pictures/ composite cards with names, height and vital stats with telephone number written behind. It is been advised to not to get pictures on CD.
Models from abroad will need to carry an International Passport, VISA Copy, business VISA (as far as possible please ensure that you visit India on business visa), employment Visa (please ensure with the relevant agency the FRRO registration is done immediately on arrival into India which is mandatory for any model holding a foreign passport),copy of valid FRRO registration and agency consent letter.
As for the dress Code, the garments worn by the models must allow the skin tone and body form to be clearly visible. Male Models should opt for tight fit shorts / skinny jeans and body fit singlet and female models can wear tight fit skimpy shorts or skirts /hot pants and body fit short singlet / tube top – stilettos / heels.
Required height to enroll for female models is 5.7 inches and 5.11 inches for male models . If any models are shorter that the mentioned height , they will not be allowed to enroll. The judges for the auditions are Anupama Verma (supermodel), Rahul Dev Shetty ( choreographer ), Atul Haha Kelkar (official consultant for Chennai International Fashion Week ),Mehar Bhasin (former model and image consultant)and Pravin Talan [ the renowned fashion photographer).
