Dhruv & Pallavi Display Taurus Collection At Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

By: Aditi Swain, Feme Fashions Bureau, Delhi  Dt: 10/28/2009

Taurus collections presented by designers Dhruv & Pallavi created a fabricated statement for the Spring Summer 2010 collection at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

The designer’s silhouettes were designated for the fluxing & blending of drapes ,pleating of the weaves & the crouching done for the utmost pretension of the art-piece. The collection includes the sheer & chiffons, the silhouettes of gowns, frock, platters & crop, for the S/S 2010 collecton.

The color palette includes the colours of  ivories, yellow's and grays. Accents of grey prominants the structure, while the use of blacks as accents in certain places adds distinction and focus.

The collection for Tauras’ is based on the handcrafted blend of the oldage the ancient Indian techniques for the  modern and contemporary feel onto the collection at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.It embraces soft, unpretentious muslins with rich velvets and brocades, gentle and fluid shapes, free spirited and feminine. The collection, signifies the detailed attention for the concept of ‘Tauras’, significant to the glamor & delicacy of the feminine… It captured a lot of the contemporary style statement ,the significance of the fragile look, the soft fabrics & the refined art projection into the silhouette! The form of dressing being the exaggeration of the asymmetry, elaborate silhouettes, dark hues and bold accessories as in, the Coiffure’ reinvented!

New Delhi based Ruchi Saran says,“I always appreciate designers who bring out the 'indian' elements....beautiful mix of fabrics/colors n styles. The styling is great”.

The Taurus designers said, “Our collection is centered on a certain flow of energy that is vital for existence. We capture this flow through the interplay of translucent chiffons, tulles, laces and satins. Together they blend movement and form. Techniques of shading, hand painting, tie n dye have been introduced to bring about some balance of color (depicting emotions, here) which adds bounce to the garments.

The look quietly moves from a very relaxed and flowy silhouette to a more matured and structured look. This tailored entrée depicts the latent transition from freedom to restriction and anarchy to law- Emphasizing the age old debate-“to be or not to be”, further added the designers.

While the detailing forms the highlight of the collection, the fabrics used to impart these are linens, cotton silk, silk wool and brocades & lace…The collection embedded with lots of embellishment in form of ‘the fringes & hoops, the embroil and cut-works…The color palette had subdued hues and minimal accessories for the themed attire. And the designer confides for the contemporary styles and shades that are significant to the brightness, vivid, analogous or for instance; choosing the requisite textures, pattern and prints can apprehend to the theme! The Contemporary can be stated from the styles as in; flannels, trimmings, wraps; into the collection for the S/S 2010 .
