For all men who want to look like Gulshan Grover or "Shakaal" of 'Shaan' or "Mogambo" of 'Mr India', designer Samant Chauhan's collection is apt for them.
At the VHIMW 2010 Samant Chuhan recreated a dramatic look as the designer revisited cult movies like 'Silence of the Lambs' and 'A Clockwork Orange' in his 'smart killers' collection.
Keeping in mind the Hollywood veteran Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter look in 'Silence of the Lambs', the designer created magic on the ramp with his novel collection.
The dramatic background score set the mood rolling as the models sashayed down the ramp mostly bandaged or veiled hiding their identity like a murderer.
The models walked wearing unwashed clothes with blood stains adding the thrill to the collection. The models were decked up with leather masks and shredded veils. The futuristic collection in designer’s own word has the shades of beige, brown and grey. The collection was dominated by Jackets, gloves and pants.
Leather accessories like bags, belt across the legs, chest and arms were donned by the models painted in panther prints and checks on their faces. "I have worked on the collection for two years. The killers on the ramp are more vintage, British and American from the 70s. 'Silence of the Lambs' and 'A Clockwork Orange' have influenced me to work on the theme," says Chauhan.
