Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) is a highly awaited event in Mumbai. It offers something different each time and now that it's back with the Winter/Festive 2010 season, here's a sneak peek into what's in store this time...
In all there are 74 designers participating this season, including established designers, emerging designers, accessory designers and GenNext designers.

The strategic shift we initiated last season with introduction of Resort Wear in India continues as we now tailor our upcoming season to focus on Festive Wear."
Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre, Anupama Dayal, Ritu Kumar, Satya Paul, Malini Agrawal, Masaba Gupta, Neeta Lulla, Dig Vijay Singh, Krishna Mehta, Kallol Datta, Nachiket Barve, Troy Costa are some of the names amongst 74 participating designers. Renowned designer Manish Arora and Ritu Kumar's prêt line- LABEL will also debut this season. Delhi designer Malini Ramani has bagged the grand finale of the festival.
This time LFW is special in many ways. The fashion festival will be celebrating five years of the GenNext Show and hence some promising designers who made their debut in GenNext category at LFW will be walking the ramp with their creations.The designers who will take over stage to celebrate 'Next 5 Year Show' include Aneeth Arora, Anuj Sharma, Kallol Datta, Kunal Rawal, Nachiket Barve, Nitin Bal Chaudan, Rahul Mishra, Rimzim Dadu, Sailex Ngairangbam and Swapnil Shinde. They will present a collection based on 'Defining the future of fashion', and each designer will present five garments that will personify their definition of evolution and future.
For the first time ever LFW is organising an offsite show for designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed. The lucky designer will be showcasing his collection at Opulent Tote, Mahalaxmi Racecourse on September 16.
With so many new additions this season, we are sure the much awaited fashion festival of Mumbai will rock this time.
