Karan Adds Sparkle To 'The Collective'

By: Bhawna Satsangi, Feme Fashions Bureau, Delhi | 8 Sep 2010

Super premium Lifestyle Fashion Theatre, an initiative of Aditya Birla Group - 'The Collective' - was launched recently in the capital by Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra to give fashionistas a class to their wardrobe.

After getting accolades for his uber-chic collection at the Van Heusen Men's Fashion Week 2010 director turned fashion designer Karan Johar is all set to embark a new journey all together. Karan, who was in the capital recently for the launch of the premium lifestyle store 'The Collective', says he has been overwhelmed by the association with the store.

"I am immensely proud to be associated with the super-premium lifestyle brand which has some great designers on the roll. It is my pleasure to be the part of the launch of the collective in capital, which is growing strength by strength," said Karan.

Ask Karan if he is focusing more on fashion designing than films these days he suddenly equips, "Fashion designing is a passion for me and filmmaking is my soul. I want to make more good films in future ahead."

Karan said that he will be doing brainstorming session for his next directorial and for this he will be travelling internationally. "I am going to go out and think what I should make next.” And certainly that has been reflected in his recently concluded VHIMW 2010 where the multitalented Karan had showcased the collection inspired by the chic city - New York.

The filmmaker, who has given blockbusters like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham', 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' and others says being a part of The Collective, all fashionable men will get an array of options available here to choose from.

The Collective is a super premium lifestyle retail concept offering international brands with its unique point of view. 'Fashion Theatre', the store offers designer wear, formal, semi formal, casual, denim to active wear. Brands such as Armani Collezioni, Andriano Goldschmeid, Duchamp, Fred Perry, Hackett, Hugo Boss, Kenneth Cole, Ted Baker, True Religion and Versace Collection are on offer by the store.

With Madura Garments, the garment lifestyle retail division of the Aditya Birla Group, The Collective also caters value added services to the customer which include made-to-measure clothing and a spa.
