Revellers Came Dressed In White

By: Monu Sharma, Feme Fashions Bureau, Kolkata | 2 Mar 2010

Holi celebrations attracted the celebrity crowd lapping up all the fun. The 'Rang Barse' event began a day ahead of the festival. It was a colourful bash in Kolkata for two days.

Songs, dances, bright colours fills the street in the festival of colours. The essence of Holi is about being colourful. The 500 year old celebration is to drench dear ones in a myriad of colours.

Holi celebration in Kolkata began a day ahead of the festival. The theme night 'Holi Fever' at The Park was a huge hit with the party animals including celebrities and crème people of the city. Keeping with the theme, the bartenders were dressed in white kurtas with red choli tied around their waists. The thandai added that sweet touch to the evening and the revellers had immense fun putting gullal on everyone.

DJ Rameez, Vishal, Xavier and Hussain had crowd on its toes with electrifying remixes.  The party went on till midnight with celebrities and Tollywood stars say Tanusree, Rituparna, Pallavi, Priti etc also dressed in white, keeping with the theme. The costumes were anything but in white. Some were seen in white suits, kurta pyjama whereas; others were in sort of a ruff-tuff mood with white tee and leggings or jeans.

Holi party celebration attracted celebrities with simple yet stylish attires. Tanusree beautified the evening in white salwar-kameez and white duppata. Looking stylish in open hair, the lady looked stunning with handful churis. The churis that she wore were definitely not white but something colourful to make the attire look glamorous and attractive with mix and match feel to it. Nonetheless, I found her white gold ear danglers more stylish. Some revellers believe white makes the moment sad. Hence, going off the theme there were few in colourful costumes too. Priti, a model was found wearing multi-colour poncho, her open curly hair was very attractive.

Business ladies Khushboo and Parmeet also agreed to Priti. Hence, they enjoyed sprinkling colours and dancing on colourful designer kurtis with stylish cuts. It was a truly colourful evening with lot of excitement. At the Soho venue, dholkis were a major attraction, city's high-end fashion conscious set spun magic at the console. Various fashion designers, models and many more were scattered carelessly in the occasion.

The response was no less exciting with dholki beats on the dance floor. The fashion enthusiasts enjoyed while making plans for the next day.
