Kolkata based designer Gauri Bajoria explains, “Valentine’s Day attires make a very different theme. Hence, they have to be catered keeping up the ‘Romanticism’. The fabric, cut, colour and attire as on whole should be well-toned. This year I have come up with s different variety of stuff for valentines with maximum usage of ‘Splash Prints’. This has given the stuff a playful look. There are also some attires prepared for elderly ladies, I have made the dress under this category look simple with flowers made of fabrics decorated on them.”
She adds up, “I have made up lots of long cocktail dresses, draped dresses and short dresses with flowy fabrics say chiffon, raw silk and many more.The very fabric and colour will make one feel sheer and sexy. Ones any lady wears it for the party, it shall play soft with sober yet romantic feel on her body.”
Designer Sanchita Julka from Kolkata confirms, “I am working on Valentine’s Day special collection. I have short dresses with a special sexy feel. As Valentine has a unique colour palette, I am showcasing attires on the same theme. There are attractive attires with simple cuts and embroidery.”
She adds up proudly, “There are sheer and flowy dresses as well as straight cut dresses. My dresses have a bilateral feel. A set of dress line gives formal feel with stripes whereas other set gives informal and trendy effect.”
Designer Abdul Halder justifies his collection saying, “Valentine’s Day or Lover’s Day gives a very special feel. My collection for the very special occasion consists of ethnic wear. There are sarees, gowns and achkans. I have used fine comfortable fabric. There are bejeweled attires which includes Swarovski, coloured stones and many more.”
“My collection consists of bejeweled attires, separate matching jewelleryi s also provided with the stuff. The range for my special day attire starts from 40,000 and goes up till 3 lakhs. If one takes matching jewellery it would just cost them around 25 to 60 lakhs, keeping up the lovers spirit I have all reds in attires as well as jewellery,” says the designer who launched 1.2 million dollar dress in an International Fashion Week last year.
